In the first two articles of this series: Smell Right, or Fail Miserably! and Dress for Success, we discussed the importance of stimulating the senses of smell and sight to attract the man you want. Now it's time to discuss the third element in the seduction game. What does he need to hear to be seduced? <b>Humor:</b> Introducing humor is tricky but helps. Witty humor is best. Refrain from long jokes unless you're really good at telling them especially at the beginning of the date. Laughing is a good therapy and helps to break the ice and loosen both of you up. <b>Tone of Voice:</b> Your tone of voice should be warm and care-free. Try not to raise your voice, because it will ruin the mood. Don't speak under your breath either. It's annoying to have to be repeating yourself because he didn't hear you. <b>Eye contact:</b> Observe him while you're talking. If you notice that he starts fidgeting and looking away, he's either nervous or bored with the topic. Shifty-eyed people tend to cause distrust. Make eye contact as much as possible when he's talking to you. This will make him feel special. <b>A Little Vulnerability Goes a Long Way</b> I'm running the risk of sounding chauvanistic here, but men like to think that you want their protection. Strong, independent women tend to be a turn off for men. You can be strong and independent without having to remind him of it. He needs to have a sense of purpose and feel important for you. If you give off the impression that you don't need anyone's help, then what's his role in your life? (Being the henpecked husband?) <b>Forbidden topics</b> (The best ways to turn a man off!): -ex-boyfriends (any details about them) -other men (Come on! you're talking about his competition! He's supposed to be number one for you right now.) -penis size (yes, a lot of men are insecure about this) -obsessive conversation about diets (have him accept you as you are, not as you would like to be. A lot of men out there still prefer plump women, as opposed to bone racks) -details about your day at work (you're out to seduce him, remember? Would you feel seduced hearing about his day?) -clothes and accessories you are thinking of buying (this conversation goes down well with friends, but not with most men unless they're fashion designers) -forcing him to give you an honest opinion about what you're wearing (Believe me, if he likes what he sees, he will tell you straight out. Don't hound him for his opinions. Men don't like to have to tell a woman what looks best on them. They just limit their opinions to: 'you look great', or 'not bad'. Don't force an uncomfortable situation for the both of you.) -problems with your female friends. (men in general can't understand women's problems with other women any better than women can understand a man's obsession for sports or auto mechanics) <b>What Does He Want to Hear?/ Suggestions for conversation:</b> (make him the center of your attention) -You are unlike anyone I have ever met! (Great lead in. ...The rest is up to you!) -I accept you as you are (Don't say it straight out, use your imagination to tell him a few things you like about him. If he really likes you, he will most likely start telling you what he thinks of you) -you can introduce innocent hypothetical situations like: what would you do if you had all the money in the world?, What would be your perfect holiday? (Never: What would your mother say if she saw us now?) <b>If the Right Mood Is Set:</b> -fantasies including him. (only if he has earned your trust and you feel he will enjoy what he hears and maybe share some of his own fantasies with you) -"Let me tell you a little secret" will get his attention, especially if you tell him what would turn you on if he did it -this really spices up the evening. Make sure there's something in it for him. <b>Avoid Distractions:</b> Leave your cell phone at home or turn it off. Make a point of telling him that you've done so, to make him feel special. This way you also give him the subliminal message to do the same. This distraction can ruin an otherwise well-planned evening. And Most Importantly, <b>Be yourself!</b> The above points are just some general guidelines to help you -not a set of strict rules as every person is different. Make sure he gets to know the real you, so there are no surprizes later on. Inexpensive ways to be romantic, and it will pay off for your relationship in innumerable ways. Why inexpensive? When she is angry, you will be so as well and if she is sad, it will rub off on you. When she shows anxiety about becoming sexually involved with you, you will become anxious as well. This can make your romance with her a complete bust. Now, by being the jerk, you will be the headstrong guy that steps all over any and everybody to get where you’re trying to go, no matter who you hurt in the process; even the woman you’re trying to court. For a jerk to win others have to lose and no one wants to be a part of that option. It is important that you remain confident and strong about your decisions, but you must also take heart to what others are feeling and what they have to say. This will make you the ultimate guy to be around. You will be admired and desired by the lady you are dating or trying to date. By listening to the women you are trying to attract, you will earn points for being a nice guy and by staying strong and confident throughout the conversation will boost you up there with the jerk category, but they simply cancel each other out; making you the alpha male. Being a little of both is the way to go. You can be the joker and cocky guy, but you need to know when the joking stops and when the substance begins. You should also be open-minded at trying new things. Guys that aren’t afraid of taking risks attract even the hottest of women. This also goes for taking risks with women. Love and intimacy are extremely important in relationships. Intimacy reinforces the bond between lovers and promotes undistracted communication both verbally and physically between partners. Spending time with your significant other on that level has all kinds of benefits.

Individuality In A Relationship

There are three common factors all relationships should have. These factors are religion, finances, and a common lifestyle. Having these three beliefs in common are very important when the survival to a relationship is concerned. These major factors help a relationship survive, but having small differences in interest keeps a relationship from going stale. You don't want to get bored with each other. For instance, say you and him go every place side by side, you hear all the same jokes at the same time, you hang out with the same people, basically experiencing everything together. Now, you and him are home alone, and you have nothing to talk about. He's heard all the stories, and jokes. I mean, he was there too. Now, what are you two ever going to talk about? Now imagine you have the same interests, so you go and do the same activities together. You have the same hobbies. See where I'm going with this? If you and your man think, act, react, and know everything about each other, plus you know everything about each others lives, because you did it together. You can't possibly have an interest in each others lives. You're taking the surprises and excitement out of the relationship. You are now your partner, and your partner is you. It may seem like you are just trying to get away from your partner at first and it may hurt his feelings. In fact, it may hurt your feelings when he wants to go out without you, but let him. Stop being polite! Don't get me wrong, you always need to respect your partner, but it's OK to let both him and you have time to do your own things. If you trust your man, this shouldn't be a problem. If you don't trust your man, you should take a second look, and reevaluate your relationship before continuing on with this charade. It will be difficult at first, but you will thank me later. You and your man won't feel suffocated by each other, which is a major reason men opt out. You two need to be yourselves. If you're not yourselves, you can't possibly be happy. He and you will be much happier knowing you can still be yourself, and he'll respect you, and even love you more for it. However, it's never OK to do things that you couldn't tell him about later. BE TRUSTWORTHY! Don't take advantage of the situation. Oh, and always make sure you and him still have time as a couple. Especially, alone time so you and him can reconnect. You're going to need time to share all the interesting individual stuff you do when your apart. Plus, time to be in a relationship. You can't be a couple if you're never together. Respect you partner, and having your own lives as individuals will be pleasant and even healthy for your relationship. In my work with women and relationships, I often help them through break ups. One of the most common lies I hear women tell themselves is, "I gave him the best years of my life." This is simply nonsense. The best is always yet to come, if you choose it to be. So, you are getting older by the minute and cannot reclaim your youth. But happiness is found in our experiences and our attitude, not our age. By learning how to attract and maintain a good relationship, you will have a happier future and avoid the heartache. Unfortunately, some people feel that our bad habits cannot be changed the older we get. We think over eating, falling into bad relationships or smoking become part of who we are and we blindly accept the often horrible consequences that accompany them. We've all heard people say, " I'm too old to quit smoking," or, "It's too late for me to regain my youthful figure." It is never too late and we are never too old to make the changes to better our future.

There was an 83 year old gentleman who was a part of my church who was homebound. With the encouragement of some members of the congregation, he was able to give up smoking, a habit he had for many years. With in a matter of weeks, he was out playing golf again, something he hadn't done in years! It's incredible what happens when someone decides that they are in control of their quality of life, and accept the support and knowledge necessary to make changes. The only unfortunate part is how long it took him to finally quit smoking. Think of the years he gave to his habit that kept him from enjoying life! The best years of anyone's life are not determined by age, even in relationships. A lady I know became single again.

She decided to continue to find ways to enjoy her life and continue on despite her heartache. Eventually she married again at the young age of 80, mainly because of her busy life and great attitude. She and her husband have a wonderful relationship, and enjoy riding their motorcycles, of all things! If people in their 80's are still dropping bad habits and finding themselves in meaningful relationships, you can do it too. It takes a good attitude, the right support, and knowledge of how to change. Your life is nothing less or better than what you make of it.
